IMF Status Report - Spectrometric Sounding of the Atmosphere

The institutes of the Earth Observation Center (EOC) were evaluated between October 22 and 24, 2013 by an external team of experts (EOC Evaluation). For this review both EOC institutes generated a status report which covers the period 2007-2013. One of the chapters of the IMF report describes our achievements in the area of Spectrometric Sounding of the Atmosphere. It lists to a large degree activities of our department Atmospheric Processors (ATP), supplemented by various Earth's atmosphere related tasks pursued in the department Experimental Methods (EXV). Each individual status report also includes a comprehensive summary of IMF/DFD common topics such as Earth Observation missions with relevance for the EOC.

The full IMF status report can be downloaded from the IMF website under IMF. For ATMOS readers being only interested in what we outlined in the section on Spectrometric Sounding of the Atmosphere, together with a description of EO missions including the entire suite of platforms carrying atmospheric instruments, we provide here the corresponding chapters.
